Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at Emerald Nursing & Rehab Brookside, a leading skilled nursing facility. The SLP will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of life for our residents.

Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
- Treatment and Intervention:
- Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions.
- Adapt treatment techniques to meet the specific needs and goals of each resident.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
- Prepare detailed reports and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic care.
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies for residents.
- Education and Training:
- Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Adhere to facility policies, state, and federal regulations, and professional standards of practice.
- Ensure all practices comply with healthcare and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in NE.
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transfer patients with assistance.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Adequate visual and auditory acuity to assess and interact with residents.
