At High Point Medical Center, our Nuclear Medicine Technologists are highly skilled and proficient in the precise management of positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals, computer systems, and advanced scintillation detection equipment. They adeptly operate Nuclear Medicine and PET equipment, utilizing their expertise to capture precise diagnostic images and accurately measure pharmaceutical distribution within targeted regions of the body.

Position Highlights:
- Shift Schedule: PRN, as needed for extra departmental coverage
- Location: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist – High Point Medical Center
- Extra Pay: Hourly Shift Differentials Offered for 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shift coverage
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma or GED Required; Completion of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Program Required
- Registered & Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by ARRT or NMTCB or deemed registry eligible
- Preferred – Previous experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology and proficiency in computer, radiation physics, and tomographic imaging.
- Valid CPR Certification Required – BLS
- Strong clinical ability to prioritize patient needs, provide age-appropriate patient care, manage schedules, and effectively communicate with medical professionals
Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Radiopharmaceutical Precision: Administers radiopharmaceuticals under supervision of Radiopharmacist.
- Order Clarity & Expertise: Reviews and validates patient orders, consulting Radiologist when needed.
- Diagnostic Insights: Correlates exam data with other test results.
- Medication Management: Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Equipment Proficiency: Operates diagnostic tools & equipment for procedures and records crucial patient information.
- Image Quality Assurance: Assesses image quality and consults with Radiologist as necessary.
- Comprehensive Patient Records: Ensures accurate documentation of exams and patient data.
This role involves maintaining a clean work area but carries inherent risks, including exposure to infections, bloodborne diseases, hazardous substances, and radiation. It also entails handling emergency situations, working irregular hours, and being available for short-notice absentee replacement.
