JOB SUMMARY:Special Summer Incentive - External Only
$15,000 SIGN ON BONUS
FREE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!Provides surgical technology to direct and indirect care and service. Assist surgeon, performs operative/invasive procedures. Serves as a resource to other technologists, trains new technologists, trains students and functions as an informal lead technologist role as needed. Mentoring and utilizing the additional education gained through certification will be used to assist peers, perform more efficiently and raise performance.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion in Surgical Technology from an accredited program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
- Work may occasionally require travel to other Carle Health facilities/hospitals.
- Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser. Multicultural sensitivity. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Preparation for surgeon specific operative/invasive procedures that's timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
- Scrubs on simple to complex procedures for a variety of specialties.
- Plans, anticipates and provides for expected and unexpected intra-op events.
- Communicates and collaborates with others.
