Job Summary
The position is under the general direction of the Facility Manager. The main focus of the position is on providing superior outpatient rehabilitation services through a collaborative care model with our physicians in order to optimize performance and enhance the quality of function for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Exceptional patient care
- Interprets physician orders, performs initial evaluations, and establishes treatment plans and functional goals
- Responsible for upgrading and amending the treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care
- Written documentation on patient status to physicians per compliance guidelines of IBJI rehab
- Determine appropriate discharge timeline and appropriate follow-up
- Supervision of Rehabilitation Technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed
- Compliance with daily paperwork. PT/PTAs/ATCs are responsible for documenting all treatment in patient charts in a timely manner (initial evals, daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP)
- Stays current with billing policies and demonstrates ethical billing practices
- Maintains active state license by earning appropriate CEUs through outside courses and IBJI sponsored educational opportunities
- Develops positive relationships with the physician teams at IBJI
- Takes an active role in the patient medical team: office visits with physicians, contact with case managers, etc.
- Participates in programs sponsored by IBJI: Mentoring, clinical educator, special interest group, community outreach
Requirements
- Graduate from accredited Physical Therapy Program
- Licensed or eligible to sit for boards in the state of Illinois
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
- Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing
- Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
- Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
