Description:
The Pharmacy Technician prepares and distributes under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Preparing non-hazardous and hazardous IV admixtures
- Refilling automated dispensing cabinets (ADC)
- Filling and labeling medications
- Answering the telephone and routing the call as appropriate
- Delivering medications to patient care areas
- Maintaining medication stock levels
- Maintaining proper storage of medications to ensure safe and cost-effective pharmaceutical care services
- Maintaining general pharmacy organization and cleanliness
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Proficient in basic computer skills and appropriately using information systems, technology, and automation to complete the assigned tasks
Estimated pay range for this position is $19.73 - $25.65 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications:
Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper
Licenses & Certifications:
- PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Registered Pharmacy Technician
Additional Qualifications:
- 0-3 years technician experience OR Graduate of the BHSF Pharmacy Technician Program
- PTCB should be obtained within one (1) year of employment
- Complex Hazardous Compounding (Preferred)
Complex Hazardous compounding includes but is not limited to: 20 hours or more per week compounding hazardous medications, compounding novel chemotherapy therapies, TPN, pump filling and programming, use of a closed-system transfer devices (CSTD).
