How you will excel as part of our team:
The Laboratory Technician will contribute to a world-class laboratory in the following manner under the direction of the Laboratory Supervisor:
- Perform routine preparation and extraction of samples; work with the lab supervisor and operations manager to determine priority.
- Prepare reagents and solutions.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment including pipettes, balances, centrifuges, etc.
- Batching and data entry in MS Excel and LIMS.
- Prepare extracted samples for analysis in coordination with analytical chemists.
- Properly handle and dispose of laboratory hazardous waste.
- Manage inventory and restocking of chemicals, consumables, and supplies.
- Identify opportunities for improvement to process efficiency and throughput.
- Shared responsibility for general laboratory organization and cleanliness.
- Communication of relevant work details to Lab Supervisor and coworkers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position & Expected Schedule
Position is full-time with overtime as needed. Candidates must be willing to work Mon - Fri 8:30AM - 5:00PM or possibly Tues - Sat as business dictates.
To Excel as the Laboratory Technician
Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship, possess a combination of technical skills, organizational skills, and a strong attention to detail; Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Other qualifications include:
- BA/BS in Chemistry or related field, or equivalent experience working in a laboratory setting. A preference will be towards candidates that have experience in an analytical laboratory.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
- Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, wet chemistry, bench work, equipment, materials, and the techniques/procedures commonly used in a production laboratory.
- Knowledge of LIMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
