Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare or business preferred.
- At least 2 years experience working in a medical office or hospital required. Insurance verification and referral experience a plus.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Excellent computer skills with ability to use and understand electronic medical records.
- Ability to be flexible and work in different areas as the need arises.
- Ability to understand and empathize with patient financial needs.
- Ability to understand and communicate courteously (verbally and in writing) with others including co-workers, insurance personnel, and patients of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality as situations dictate.
