Locum Tenens Family Practice Physician Needed (ASAP - Ongoing)
We are seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near Longview, WA. - Contract Length: 3 months, with the possibility to extend
- Shift Details: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- Optional Saturday Hours: Available for overtime at an OT rate
Key Responsibilities:
- Outpatient Ambulatory Services: Provide family medicine care in a community health center setting. Services include walk-in/acute care, chronic disease management, and same-day walk-in patients.
- Patient Population: You will care for patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics, including underserved populations, such as migrants and refugees.
- Patient Volume: Scheduled to see up to 18 patients per day. While the patient load may vary due to cancellations, providers should be comfortable with high volume and fast-paced environments.
- Support Staff: Each provider will be supported by a dedicated medical assistant, receptionist, and access to mental health therapists, dietitians, pediatricians, and administrative staff. Interpretation services are available onsite for non-English-speaking patients.
Skills and Procedures Required:
- Basic Procedures: Must be proficient in performing basic family medicine procedures such as injections, IUD placement, and minor wound care.
- Experience Needed: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is required. Candidates should be able to "hit the ground running" with a 1-week onsite orientation. Providers are expected to start patient care by day 3.
Practice Setting:
- Outpatient Ambulatory: The practice setting is an outpatient community health center, focused on providing comprehensive care to vulnerable populations.
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Required for all applicants.
- License: Active Washington medical license required. Candidates without a Washington license will not be considered.
- DEA: Active Washington DEA registration required.
- Certifications: Certification requirements (e.g., BLS, ACLS) will be discussed during credentialing. Providers are responsible for obtaining any required certifications.
- Background: Candidates must have a clean background with no history of malpractice.
- EMR System: The facility uses EPIC as its electronic medical record system. Familiarity with EPIC is preferred but not mandatory.
- Flexibility: Providers local to the area who do not require housing may be considered for part-time positions, with a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Full-Time Coverage: This role offers a full-time, 40-hour work week with opportunities for additional overtime on Saturdays.
