JOB SUMMARY - APRN (Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner)
Responsible for the delivery and oversight of psychiatric care to assigned patients involved in medication services provided at the Center's clinical sites. Provides assessment and pharmacotherapy to patients in individual appointments as well as working with a team of providers to address other related clinical and administrative patient needs. Provides all clinical services under the HRMC Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Protocol. An essential job function is a reliable, predictable 40-hour per week job, on site, with regular attendance.
REQUIREMENTS - APRN (Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner)
Education/Knowledge:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Completed an approved Psychiatric Mental Health APRN Program.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse and as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Tennessee.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- Certificate of Fitness from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- DEA certification (or in the process of attaining it).
- Must have obtained a minimum of 500 clinical hours with a preceptor.
Physical:
- Outpatient psychiatric clinic or residential treatment environment.
- Some exposure to biological hazards and unpleasant odors.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones. Close eye work.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- This position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking.
