SALARY RANGE
$47,185.06 - $57,093.92 Annually
$1,814.81 - $2,195.92 Bi-weekly
POSITION SUMMARY
This is work providing practical nursing services to patients under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, licensed osteopathic physician, licensed podiatrist, or a licensed dentist.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO
Administers medications and treatment as ordered. Checks medications for accuracy when returned from Pharmacy. Administers treatments such as sterile dressings, enemas, irrigations, and cauterizations. Takes vital signs, weights, performs breast exams, evaluates patient/clients, and assists staff in the care of clients.
Evaluates complaints of residents, evaluates acutely ill or injured patients, and notates physician orders. Documents all evaluations of resident complaints in accordance with policy and procedure. Completes all nursing notes, nursing Active Treatment Plans, Support Plans, and summaries as required.
Checks monthly updates for accuracy and prepares for provider signature. Monitors charting compliance of direct care staff and reports deficiencies.
Makes rounds with clinician when required. Accompanies residents on trips outside of the center as scheduled. Keeps medical supply cabinets and treatment rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
Attends Active Treatment Plan meetings, nurse’s meetings, and in-services as scheduled.
Gives and accepts a thorough report at the beginning/end of shift to ensure continuity of care.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of nursing principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Skill in the use of medical equipment and instruments used in providing nursing care.
- Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity in providing nursing care.
- Ability to administer medications and treatments.
- Ability to work with patients.
- Ability to interpret and follow medical instructions.
- Ability to observe patients' symptoms and reactions to treatment.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
