We are seeking a Mental Health Professional to provide support to our Adult OCD and Complex Anxiety Program. If you are passionate about providing your patients with exemplary care, while being sensitive to their individual psychiatric conditions, you would be a great fit on our team. The Mental Health Professional will support Compass’ clinical teams through activities including but not limited to interacting with patients and supporting the milieu, communicating patient information, preparing the clinical environment, aiding patients in daily exposure therapy work under the supervision of master's level clinicians, tracking patient outcome data. Additionally, this role will understand HIPAA compliance and be able to maintain a calm demeanor in high-stress situations.
The hours for this role are 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
What you'll do:
- Support and lead daily Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy including but not limited to gathering materials, facilitating exposures that involve more than one person, supporting patients during and after exposures, helping them increase the intensity or variability of exposures.
- Support other therapists such as co-leading content, communicating needs outside the group room, writing on the board, etc..
- Demonstrate or perform interoceptive with patients
- Support in program day to day logistics including but not limited to attendance, scheduling, printing materials, prepping rooms, administering/entering patient data measures
- Support general administrative tasks such as making copies, making binders, printing group materials, etc.
- Engage in frequent communication and collaboration with team members
- Guiding group in a scripted meditation
- Chart progress of patients
- Communicate patient progress with team
- Check and respond to daily emails and EMR messages.
- Maintain organizational systems
- Communicate patient requests with doctors/nurses/therapists
- Maintain patient privacy at all times
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Have two years’ experience working with mental health patients, with experience with OCD preferred
- Experience successfully working with patients with significant emotional and behavioral needs
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple demands simultaneously in a fast paced and changing environment
- Ability to maintain patient privacy at all time
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and standing, bending and moving
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
