The role you’ll contribute:
Professional nurse who provides leadership in the development of staff education at the unit level in compliance with regulatory agencies in conjunction with the hospital mission, management and physician expectation. The educator combines clinical expertise and passion for teaching in both the classroom and practice setting, preparing and mentoring current and future generations of nurses. The Nurse educator plays a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce, serving as a role model and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice.

Incorporates principles of adult learning in planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs
Plans, prepares, and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience
Adheres to attendance standards when teaching/facilitating a class ensuring set up is completed prior to class start
Assists with students and practicing nurses to identify their learning needs, strengths and opportunities and develop learning activities to grow skill set based on learning needs
Coordinates orientation of new staff including agency into the organization
Qualifications:
Associate Degree of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 5 years of in-patient nursing experience
Must be enrolled in BSN within one year of hire
Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement
Current in American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
PALS/NRP based on unit coverage (must obtain within 90 days of hire if required by unit)
