Hematologist/Oncologist Opportunity – Central Florida Location – 45 minutes from downtown Orlando
Private practice opportunity to join a highly successful Cancer Center in the Orlando area. Currently, there are eight Medical Oncologists and two Radiation Oncologists in the practice, with over one hundred employees throughout their four office locations, including six midlevel providers. There are four partners in the practice.
The practice delivers comprehensive cancer care to a four-county area and has no competition in the area. They offer full evaluation and treatment, chemotherapy and immunotherapies, Radiation, (PET|CT) scans, and have a full lab and pharmacy including an IV Pharmacy. Between the four offices, they have 75 infusion chairs. There is also a research component to the practice, although this is not required of the new physician.
The new physician will work four days in the clinic and have one administrative day. Physicians round at the hospitals on their administrative day and have the rest of the day off.
Office hours are typically 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with rounding until 5 PM. Physicians round at four local hospitals.
Once fully operational, each physician averages 20 patients per clinic day. Call during the week is 1-9 and 1-4 on weekends, as two physicians take call on the weekends. Weekend call starts at 5 PM Friday until 8 AM on Monday morning. Call is very light, and physicians rarely visit the hospital after hours.
The practice is 50% Medicare and 40% commercial insurance, with less than 1% Medicaid. Ideally, the new physician will be a team player and interested in a work-life balance.
