The focus of the role is to sell our Impella surgical line-up as a temporary mechanical support device (tMCS) specific to Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Failure Cardiologists across the US. Given how fast we are growing within hemodynamic support, we are looking to expand across our US commercial team. This role will work closely with surgical Advanced Surgical Consultant (ASC’s) as well as with our cardiology sales and clinical teams who will all be responsible for driving growth across the Pittsburgh, PA area. Through our Impella product portfolio, you will enable physicians and staff to recover hearts and save patients’ lives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella 5.5 (left sided treatment)
- Maximize the indication use across this area’s user base
- Grow call points within an account’s Cardiac Surgeon staff (sub-specialists)
- Gain distribution and utilization of the Impella RP Flex (right sided treatment)
- Work collaboratively within the area to achieve quarter over quarter growth
- Drive excitement and vision of heart recovery solutions with existing devices and future technologies
- Multiple call point(s): Cardiac Surgeons – all specialties, Heart Failure Cardiologists, “Heart Team” (to include Cardiac Anesthesia, Intensivists, Cardiac PA’s & Perfusionists)
- Staff major conferences: HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, and ISHLT
- Staff local heart failure symposiums
- Build surgical vertical in established Impella programs – Full product portfolio
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of 10+ years experience in cardiac surgery and/or combined cardiology medical device sales required
- Temporary Mechanical Support knowledge preferred
- Proven track record of selling in an operating room is required
- A proven track record in leading and motivating teams to successfully achieve quotas required
- Experience with a matrixed/parallel selling organization sharing goals and objectives
- Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy required
- Established relationships/network of Cardiac Surgeons across the Pittsburgh, PA area
- Proven track record of technology adoption and market development
- Direct patient support experience required
- Ability to drive patient outcomes required
- Ability to travel 50%-75% overnight required
- Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry required
