Description
Bangor, Maine: We seek an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to LEAD the NP RESIDENCY PROGRAM based within a large, respected FQHC/community health center system in Maine’s third largest city. This organization offers an integrated Medical Home Model and provides services to all, including all-ages primary care and walk-in care, addiction treatment, chiropractic services, dental care, women’s health, podiatry, physical therapy, mental health care and more, to thousands of area Residents. More than 700 employees – including over 200 clinical providers – operate sixteen practices and program service sites here.
You will develop and oversee the educational content for the NP Residency – a one-year post-Master’s program – and ensure that organizational goals are met. You will be a preceptor, teacher and mentor to the four Residents in the program. You will assist with their weekly rotations and perform chart reviews as the Residents practice their clinical skills in primary care and specialty care sites, and at their home practice (where the Residents manage their own panel), serving an engaged, supportive patient population. You will make presentations and recruit new Residents into the program.
The overarching goal is to facilitate the clinical, ethical, professional and personal development of the Residents with the goal of graduating confident, highly knowledgeable NPs who are dedicated to staying in primary care long-term. Many graduates of the Residency sign on as FQHC employees.
In this important role, you will be a member of the Senior Management Team, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer. This is a collegial professional environment with active, involved leadership governed by a Board comprised of community volunteers. You will enjoy a convenient weekday schedule with no nights or weekends.
FNPs with teaching experience, and those with community health care experience, will receive priority attention.
