North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (NFETC) is a 216 bed, all male, forensic, mental health rehabilitation facility. The Center is located in northeast Gainesville, Florida on 639 picturesque acres. NFETC employs a variety of positions including food service, maintenance, direct care, nurses, counselors, rehab therapists, medical doctors, security, psychiatrists, and psychologists.

This is a highly responsible and professional position that will serve as Registered Nurse Supervisor F/C. This position will collaborate with each section within the state facilities and be required to use independent judgement, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities, and should be extraordinarily detail-oriented.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
The employee in this position spends a minimum of 75% of his/her time performing duties which involve contact with residents in a forensic facility or institution. This position requires lifting, pulling, and squatting. Duties of this position require the incumbent to be knowledgeable of and utilize the principles of Total Quality Management. The incumbent must be employed full time and work closely with and function under the direct supervision of the Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor. This position requires a Florida Registered Nurse license with fulfillment of CEU requirements to maintain licensure every two years.
- Assumes ultimate supervisory responsibility for all nursing and direct care service personnel on assigned shift.
- Assumes ultimate responsibility for all resident care delivered on the shift by assigning staff.
- Responsible for providing safety and security in all aspects of resident care during a crisis or restrictive procedure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position:
- Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to provide direct patient care and treatment.
- Ability to assess patients' progress and evaluate nursing care plans.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 and two years of Registered Nursing experience.
