ESA - Psychologist
Beginning 2024-25 School Year
This is a 1.0 FTE district-wide position.
Base Salary + Enrichment Contract: $60,629-$115,182*
Supplemental 10 Days Contract-SLP: $3,193-$6,065*
*Posted salary is for the 23-24 school year; the salary for the 24-25 school year will be modified following negotiations.
Speech Language Pathologist work in a variety of elementary and secondary school settings by focusing on helping students with a wide range of speech-language-related problems to meet performance standards. The work includes the use of evidence-based assessment and intervention practices in the prevention, assessment, intervention, and program design efforts that are integrated within a school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the Speech Language Pathologist performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:
- Diagnosis: Select and administer appropriate tests for a full range of speech/language disabilities; interpret results to parents and other evaluation and IEP team members; write diagnostic reports and maintain required documentation.
- Program Development: determine placement in programs; develop IEP's meeting Washington State Rules & Regulations; conduct IEP conferences, and maintain documentation.
- Program Implementation: Implement speech/language programs and maintain data collection system.
- Conferences: Provide information to parents, teachers, school staff, consult with physicians, community agencies and others.
- Multidisciplinary Team: Vital member of a team which necessitates attendance at various meetings with consultation of team members.
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the time designated.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students
- Effectively utilize district technology appropriate to the position and assume responsibility for attending district training needed to successfully perform designated responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
- Use effective classroom management techniques by establishing, sharing, and maintaining standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere consistent with building and District policy.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports and report cards.
- Maintain regular attendance report as indicated by the district.
- Comply with District rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
