Our team of Account Managers and Staffing Coordinators work together to refer the highest caliber of professionals with degrees, certifications, and licenses of varying levels in the fields of social services, psychiatry, occupational therapy, language speech pathology, special education teachers, para professionals, mental health, addictions treatment, allied therapies, and pharmacy. We primarily provide supplemental staffing services to school districts and charter schools, hospitals, community mental health centers, outpatient treatment facilities, and residential homes.
Job Description
Primary responsibilities include facilitating nursing activities for the agency by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, while effectively interacting with staff and other health team members and maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor levels of prescription medication available to clients.
- Coordinate psychiatric face-to-face consultations with clients: ascertain that all charts are available and provide clinical feedback to psychiatrist.
- Order prescriptions from pharmacy.
- Receive prescriptions from pharmacy.
- Deliver prescriptions to residential clients.
- Receive, review, record, and execute physician’s orders.
- Maintain medication logs and document necessary changes in dosage as per physician orders in day program as well as in residential program.
- Administer and perform other nursing procedures as per physician orders.
- Conduct medication education and training sessions for staff and clients twice yearly; more frequently if necessary. When new staff is employed within the residential program, medication orientation must be provided to them during the first week of employment.
- Coordinate laboratory testing services: identify clients in need of laboratory testing, prepare laboratory slips to request testing services, receive and evaluate laboratory testing results, document results accordingly.
- Perform Pre-Admission Screening functions.
- Perform the admission and discharge nursing assessment on assigned patients, including appropriate and timely charting and filing.
- Conduct and record health assessment screening on all admissions.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary staffing and clinical team meetings.
- Provide consultation to staff and clients about medical questions and/or concerns and assist staff in planning and implementing appropriate medical interventions.
- Accompany staff to physician’s appointments for program participants who are identified as being high-risk behaviorally and/or medically.
- Document all activities on required documents.
- Attend training programs to improve and update professional skills.
- Lock up all medication for clients at all times; medication must never be left unsupervised on desks at any time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required experience:
Medical Detox Experience on a Detox Unit: 1 year.
