The Health Care Administrative Fellowship is a full-time, paid position designed for future healthcare executives who want to gain an in-depth understanding of the operational, financial, and strategic aspects of a leading academic medical center. This fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity to work directly with department leadership and participate in a variety of projects that support the clinical, education, research, and business missions of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Project Management:
- Lead and manage complex, cross-functional projects assigned by senior management, ensuring timely completion and effective outcomes.
- Conduct thorough research and utilize internal and external resources to drive project success.
- Apply practical solutions drawn from graduate-level academic knowledge to operational challenges.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to gain insights on current UF COM initiatives, executive level decision making, and strategic planning.
Data Analysis and Strategic Planning:
- Perform in-depth data analysis to support leadership initiatives and departmental projects.
- Work with department leadership to develop actionable recommendations and create forecasting models for new opportunities.
- Manage strategic projects prioritized by senior administrators, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Reporting and Data Management:
- Prepare comprehensive financial and non-financial reports to support decision-making, as directed by the Assistant Director of Finance & Research.
- Design and implement financial analysis tools to generate actionable insights, fostering collaboration across departments and supporting leadership.
Professional Development:
- Strengthen core competencies in team facilitation, project management, strategic planning, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Actively participate in management, operational, and strategic meetings to understand key organizational initiatives and executive decision-making.
- Engage in networking activities across UF COM fellowships and internships to expand professional connections and knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $60,500 to $70,000, commensurate with education and experience.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in healthcare, including internships, and a demonstrated commitment to leadership through community involvement and professional associations.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Nursing Administration, or a related field. Applicants must have completed their degree before starting the fellowship or be currently enrolled in one of these master’s programs.
