Located in the heart of the community of Washington Heights in Northern Manhattan is a 705-bed rehabilitation and nursing care facility with a mission to provide quality care through diverse programs and services designed to support health and independence to individuals needing short-stay or long-term inpatient care.
Performs assessment of pressure ulcer and wound/prevention interventions as necessary. Makes rounds to review status of residents receiving wound and ostomy care, contributes to interdisciplinary interventions via the RCP. Provides skilled nursing care and prescribed treatment plan, demonstrates and teaches staff, and/or self-care to residents and families. Documents in the clinical record all conferences and telephone calls to disciplines involved in the resident’s plan of care. Participates in the development of relevant policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Current New York State license as a Registered Nurse
- Advance training in wound care as verified through wound care certificate from recognized national/state training program
- One to two years experience as a clinical nurse and experience in a long-term care, preferred
- Must be able to read, write and speak English and bilingual skills helpful
- Able to work weekends (flexible hours)
- Computer knowledge sufficient to access data, run reports, update clinical programs
