This Registered Nurse PACU opportunity is part-time at 20 hours per week, offers full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. This individual will function in the PACU environment, providing direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Responsibilities include:
- Addressing the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Assisting with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory.
- Participating in performance improvement activities.
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures.
- Monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment.
- Communicating with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient condition; receiving direction for patient management.
- Interceding to maintain optimum homeostasis.
- Being proficient in pain management guidelines and medication dosing.
- Maintaining regulatory agency requirements, nursing, and hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR.
- Perform head-to-toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassess post-procedure as needed.
- Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluate for effectiveness.
- Adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
- Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Prefer one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care PACU setting.
- Current ACLS required.
- Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
