Could This Be For You?
We have an immediate opening for a Prosthetist Orthotist in beautiful Puyallup, Washington. This fast-paced clinic is located on the campus of a busy rehabilitation hospital. We see a wide variety of patients including a high volume of prosthetics and custom orthotics. We need an experienced and well-spoken clinician to continue to aid in the growth of this office.
As a Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, you will leverage exceptional training and an extensive collaborative clinical community nearly 1600 providers strong to provide or supervise the delivery of comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care. You will assess patients, formulate treatment plans, implement those plans, follow-up with your patients and participate in practice management.
Your Impact
Depending on the operational requirements, your role may include some or all of the functions listed below:
- Collaborate with physicians in the evaluation and analysis of a patient's need for prosthetic and/or orthotic services; recommend treatment options.
- Examine and evaluate patient needs in relation to disease and functional loss.
- Formulate design of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts.
- Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.
- Evaluate prosthetic and/or orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit and function.
- Instruct patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
- Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and compliance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the ABC or BOC.
- A baccalaureate or master's degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger's policy.
- Ability to obtain and maintain state licensure if required.
Additional Success Factors
- Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication skills for accurate presentation and reports.
- Ability to assess patient condition and advise physician on treatment options.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques frequently throughout the work day.
- Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a work day.
(WA Only) Pay range of $70,000 - $95,000 per year + bonus + benefits.
