Under the direction of the supervising OB/GYN attending physician, this position performs assigned functions for continuity of patient care and efficient patient flow. Position requires need to maintain a high quality of patient care.
The Certified Nurse-Midwife practices within a health care system that provides for physician consultation, collaborative management and referral as indicated by the health status of the patient. The nurse-midwife is responsible for providing full-scope care, which includes twenty-four-hour in-house coverage. The nurse-midwife is administratively accountable to the Vice President of Patient Care and is clinically accountable to the supervising OB/GYN attending physician, OB Section Chief and Maternal Child Services Director.
Minimum Requirements:- Ability to meet all job physical requirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work place accommodation.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE: - A current, valid, unrestricted nursing license by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Certification as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and BRN.
- Successful completion of a midwifery education program accredited by the ACNM.
- Current, unrestricted DEA license in California.
- Current, valid, unrestricted liability insurance coverage in the amount of $1M/$3M with a company acceptable to the Medical Executive Committee and Hospital.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:- Current ACLS Certification
- Current BLS Certification
- Current NRP Certification
- Designated Collaborating RCH Medical Staff Member and Written Collaboration Agreement.
- Participate in and complete ongoing unit-based education and drill participation as directed.
