Pay Range: $57.13/hr - $67.13/hr - $77.13/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Charge Nurse is a licensed professional who provides unit-specific management leadership in first-point-of-contact supervision, direct patient care, patient and staff education, and emotional support for families and the community in accordance with the mission and philosophy, standards, policies, and practices of Enloe Medical Center. The Charge Nurse collaborates with physicians and interprets the medical plan to staff members. They direct performance and supervise assigned staff members and assist the next level of management in directing patient care and family support.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
- One year experience as an RN-Charge Nurse
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
- Two years or more Critical Care experience
- Perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience
- One year current experience in a Perioperative environment
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
- Current CPR
- Current ACLS
- PALS within 1 year of employment
Desired:
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills, and sensitivity for patients and families in crisis. Must be able to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and the public. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently and perform proficiently at intermediate and advanced levels while remaining calm, efficient, and focused in a demanding environment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, actively participate in continuing education programs, unit-based QI task forces, and preceptor programs. Must be able to perform as a preceptor in the training of students and new employees and act as a department resource and positive role model. Must meet competency requirements and perform the essential functions of the position.
