Job Duties:
A part-time, permanent staff nurse is needed to work in the Pediatric Specialty Clinic. The purpose of this position is to provide nursing support for the Ambulatory Pediatric Specialty clinics with responsibilities including providing direct patient care, coordination and management of efficient clinic operations, and serving as a resource person for the education of learners. The individual in this position will perform a variety of tasks with some detail. The individual will have to have general understanding and skill in the application of work procedures. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that patient needs are met efficiently and effectively. This position requires 30 hours per week with flexible work hours.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Graduation from state-accredited school of professional nursing and licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Organizational Unit Overview:
The East Carolina University, School of Medicine, Pediatric Outpatient Clinic provides outpatient medical care for children from birth to age 21. The clinic staff assists clients in obtaining diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses as well as provides nursing care. Staff provides health education and access to information to enhance client health and to prevent illness. Staff provides for client comfort and safety while endeavoring to be as cost effective to keep medical costs down. The Pediatric Clinics are a service component of the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine. These clinics are involved in the treatment of patients as a function of the training and education of medical students, physicians and allied health personnel in primary medical care on a regional consultative basis for eastern North Carolina.
