To our prospective teammates,
I’m the Regional Medical Director for our Intensivist program with our newest partner hospital, Wellstar Spalding Medical Center. It is located in charming Griffin, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. I’ve been a part of Sound Critical Care since 2004 when I joined as a staff intensivist. I’m proud of the critical care team we are building at Griffin and welcome interest from new graduates and practicing critical care physicians.
I’d like to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:
People
- Our Wellstar Spalding Medical Center team will be a team of three intensivists.
- We are proud that our teams are comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds with a shared dedication to the practice of critical care medicine.
- Within the hospital, we will work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure smooth transitions of care. We encourage our team members to be active participants in committees and to become part of the larger hospital team.
- Griffin is located just south of Atlanta and offers the conveniences of a large metro area with the slower pace of a suburban community.
Practice
- Wellstar Spalding Medical Center is a 160-bed community hospital, primary stroke center, and part of the larger Wellstar Health System. A longstanding part of the community, Wellstar Spalding provides compassionate and comprehensive care, close to home.
- Internal medicine residents will rotate in the ICU as part of the hospital’s GME program.
- Our schedule will include one intensivist during the day with tele-ICU coverage from our tele-intensivists at night.
- Intensivist-led multidisciplinary rounds are a fundamental part of our practice and occur daily with active team participation.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k, paid medical malpractice with tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
- We put patients first. Always.
- We value and support growth and development in our critical care medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
- We’re a community-minded team that supports involvement in and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
