Fairfax Behavioral Health is seeking a Full-Time (40 hours/week, Day Shift) certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist who is responsible for overseeing the therapeutic activities program in Kirkland.
Work Hours: The Recreation Therapist's primary location will be at the Kirkland Fairfax location with a schedule of Tuesday-Saturday.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist will ensure the program is appropriate to the needs and interest of patients and is directed toward restoring and maintaining optimal levels of physical and psychosocial functioning. The Recreation Therapist will actively participate in treatment planning and implementing activity services for the inpatient population, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy / Leisure Studies.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Licensure: Must have current Washington State CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) registration (or eligible to sit for certification).
Additional Requirements: Must obtain CPR, Handle with Care, Verbal De-Escalation, and first aid Certification (training included in orientation). May be required to work overtime, flexible hours, and weekend rotations.
