The Wake County Health and Human Services - Northern Regional Center serves targeted and categorical populations in Child Health, Immunizations, Women’s Health, Acute Care - Adults and Children. The services are offered to the insured, uninsured, underinsured and Medicaid-covered individuals. Patients are provided fee adjustments on a sliding-fee scale based on family size and income. We are currently seeking a passionate Clinic Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our Northern Regional Center team. The Clinic Registered Nurse Supervisor has the opportunity to work as part of a team in this fast-paced primary care clinical setting and directly help with preventive health for children and adults in the community. The successful candidate will be skilled in working with a diverse population of patients, and enjoy providing excellent services in a busy clinic setting.
Essential functions include:
- Administering immunizations, assist with procedures and provide initial and follow-up activities on labs, tests and referrals.
- Providing assistance to Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers with obtaining measurements, vital signs and vision/hearing screenings as needed.
- Completing forms, entering and/or obtaining information from state databases and local hospital.
- Providing triage phone calls and give advice to patients on a variety of issues.
- Providing leadership, guidance, work assignment and supervision for the clinic nursing services staff.
- Applying competent clinical knowledge and using independent nursing judgment for client care provided by self and by clinic nursing services staff to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of nursing practice in specialty areas such as pediatrics, prenatal, family planning, or communicable diseases.
- Collaborating with the Medical Director and/or Nursing Director to develop and/or revise policies, procedures, and protocols which guide the delivery of team-based primary care to clinic patients.
- Assessing the competency of nursing staff and medical assistants initially and periodically according to agency standards.
- Identifying training needs and arranging/conducting training sessions for staff development.
- Conducting periodic job performance reviews for all clinic nursing services staff.
- Collaborating with the clinic program manager to ensure proper maintenance of adequate nursing supplies inventory and equipment, safe working environment that protects client privacy, compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and periodic quality assessment and improvement initiatives.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Two years of experience as a nurse.
- North Carolina Board of Nursing Licensed Registered Nurse.
- CPR.
- AED.
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted.
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
- Pediatric experience.
- Women's Health/Pre-natal experience.
- Primary Care experience.
