About this Opportunity
The Outdoor & Leisure team at Westmorland and Furness Council is looking for an enthusiastic person as a Sports Activities Officer. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operation (including weekends) of Barrow All-weather pitches. The candidate will be expected to undertake light building cleaning and pitch cleaning duties and, through active partnerships and a good understanding of football, work with participants to develop a league programme. To increase a variety of outdoor physical activity at the centre, the post holder will work with the community to increase participation, engaging with clubs, schools, and groups to use the 3G All-weather pitches to maximum capacity.
The post holder will work closely with the team and strategic partners to develop a facility that supports our communities through improving physical activity, social interaction, and support for mental well-being.
The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the developing Leisure and Wellbeing strategy and engage with existing and new partners, including those from the private, public, and voluntary sectors, listening to our existing customers and communities.
