Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Vascular Laboratory assists in the coordination of all activities performed in the Laboratory, including performing vascular imaging studies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1 - Coordinates and assists in all activities performed in the Vascular Laboratory.
a - Runs Vascular Lab completely in absence of supervisor.
b - Works with supervisor on a daily basis to coordinate lab activities.
c - assigned task as well as performing clinical examinations.
2 - Maintains reports, records, and collects statistics.
a - All patients reports are filed and maintained for easy retrieval on a daily basis.
3 - Assures delivery of quality vascular ultrasound studies demonstrating competency in all studies while following guidelines/protocols provided by the IAC.
Acts as an educational resource to patients observing students and coworkers.
a - Quality of vascular studies are monitored continuously.
b - Assists with orientation of new staff members or students as requested.
4 - Assures that all equipment is functioning properly.
a - Performs checks on equipment daily including calibration if required by manufacturer
b - Notifies supervisor of equipment malfunction or patient safety concerns.
5 - Takes representative anatomical pictures and recognizes normal vs. abnormal anatomy.
a - Images are good quality and representative of the appropriate area.
b - Marks abnormal anatomy as seen in procedure.
6 - Must be available for on-call status, as needed after normal operating hours.
a - Will be available on the hospital premises within 1 hour of notification of need.
b - Carries the beeper at all times when on call and will notify vascular supervisor of any unusual circumstances affecting availability.
c - Participates in the on call rotation.
7 - Assists in performing quality improvement studies
8 - Conducts Quality Control procedures.
a - All quality control activities are performed as scheduled.
9 - Responsible for maintaining CEU requirements for registration.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education - Preferred
Associate degree or certification through an ultrasound accredited program. Bachelor's degree in ultrasound or health care related field preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
One to two (1–2) years of experience preferred.
Required Licenses / Registrations
RVT or RVS or VS - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography RT
Required Classes/Skills -
BLS - Basic Life Support
Required additional Knowledge, and Abilities
Carotid, Venous (upper and lower ext), arterial, PVR.
