About the Role: Join our dedicated team at Decatur Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center as an Infection Control Nurse. You will play a vital role in preventing and controlling infections, ensuring the safety of our residents and staff. Venza Care spans multiple locations across Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Louisiana, providing a supportive and innovative environment where infection control is a key priority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Monitor infection rates, investigate sources, and take appropriate action to prevent the spread of infection.
- Educate staff on infection control best practices, ensuring compliance with protocols and standards.
- Conduct infection control training sessions, workshops, and ongoing education for nursing staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive infection prevention measures.
- Stay updated on the latest research, best practices, and regulatory changes in infection control.
- Review and report infection data to healthcare administrators and relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for infection control.
- Participate in the selection and use of infection control equipment and supplies.
- Perform audits of infection control practices to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with a focus on infection control or related areas
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and control protocols and regulations
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teaching skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and lead infection prevention initiatives
