Pet Vet is proud to be one of the oldest and most loved small animal clinics in Mount Pleasant. We have won “Best Of Mount Pleasant” numerous times in addition to earning our 4.9 rating on Google! We are also proud to be privately owned which allows us to create a healthy work/life culture. We want to add another vet to our rock star team so that we can continue to keep up with the growing population and demand for quality and compassionate veterinary care. Dr. King has worked hard to create the kind of environment that encourages team work and productivity while still promoting a healthy work/life balance. The result of this environment is that we are not a high turnover clinic. Located in the Old Village district of Mount Pleasant, we are in an ideal area. We are minutes to Downtown Charleston as well as the beaches of Isle Of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. We are right next to Shem Creek and therefore walking distance to many of Mount Pleasant's most popular restaurants.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT OURSELVES:
Pet Vet is a well established private practice (over 30 years) in Mount Pleasant SC. Dr. Brian King bought the practice in 2004 and immediately set out to make it a clinic where staff, clients, and patients alike feel at home. Our building is not your stereotypical cold and white walled clinic. Dr. King is a lover of the arts and it shows in our decor. Our rooms showcase many things that clients, friends, and family have brought us from all around the world.
As we have stated, most of our staff has been with us for many years which helps us grow close relationships with our clients and aids us in providing great care for our patients. We are not into micromanaging because we recognize that everyone is different and brings different strengths to the table, and that is what makes our team so strong. To keep the bonding and teamwork strong, we offer several outings a year doing various activities. These outings are never mandatory but have always been very popular and highly requested. Some past examples include pottery painting, visiting The Van Gogh Experience, candle making, concerts, and overnight glamping trips. Our most popular event has been our yearly private costume sunset harbor cruise every October. While we recognize that team building is important, we also recognize that time off is another essential part to being able to recharge and perform at your best. Time off is respected and encouraged here because we know that self care is necessary before you can properly care for others and we pride ourselves on being able to provide the best and most compassionate care possible.
We are a two doctor small animal general practice that offers routine surgeries, digital radiographs, CO2 laser therapy, in house lab work, a well stocked pharmacy, etc. We mainly see dogs and cats but Dr. King will also see the occasional chicken in addition to orphaned and injured wildlife. Dr. Gordon Luke is our other full time veterinarian and he is well loved by staff and clients alike. Our doctors lead by example and are happy to collaborate and work together, especially on our more difficult cases. Both doctors are always interested in furthering their knowledge and learning new things so a candidate that can bring something new to the table is exactly what we are looking for. New graduates are encouraged to apply!
