Job Summary:
The Physician provides quality patient care in a clinical setting. The Physician also assists management in developing policies and procedures relating to patient needs.
Job Description:
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide quality treatment to all patients in a professional manner.
- Participate in the teaching/training program(s).
- Communicate with administrators and physicians to facilitate practice operations.
- Participate in team effort to guarantee efficient services to patients.
- Conform to the ethical code of conduct of his/her professional organization, to the Wayne State University Physicians Group Corporate Compliance Program and all standards of the Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and to clinic policies and procedures.
- Maintain a current professional license and professional liability insurance at limits required by Wayne State University Physicians Group Credentialing as applicable.
- Attend meetings and training as requested including participation in mandatory annual Wayne State University Physicians Group training in such areas as: recipient rights, confidentiality, corporate compliance, prevention of violence and management of unsafe behaviors, and cultural competence.
- Participate in professional development activities and keep current with healthcare trends and practices.
- Obey confidentiality as required by all federal, state, regulatory and Wayne State University Physicians Group policies.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training Required for the Job:
Licensed M.D. or D.O. Board eligible.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- High level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal, necessary to effectively communicate, establish, and maintain productive working relationships with people inside and outside the Department and/or Practice.
- Excellent analytical ability necessary to independently identify and resolve extremely complex and unusual problems or discrepancies.
- Clinical knowledge to meet the medical requirements relating to various procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel and/or financial data.
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and manage time.
- Patient management skills necessary to provide quality care.
Safety Requirements:
Compliance with Department Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Working Conditions/Schedules:
Hours per work weeks and days to be determined by the business need of the department.
