Overview
The Providence Medical Center Rehabilitation Department is looking for a dynamic per diem day shift Speech Language Pathologist to join our team! Responsibilities
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting
- Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing, and other services prescribed by a physician
- 90%-95% of our referrals are swallow related; we do some cognitive/speech evaluations and treatment as well
- Assist in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department
- Weekend shifts are on-call shifts with on-call pay if called in
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in speech therapy, required
- Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
- MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred
- One year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting, preferred
- One year of experience in acute care, preferred
- Current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current
