Position Summary:
The Wilkes Honors College of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Neuroscience beginning Fall 2025.
The successful candidate will teach introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and labs in behavioral neuroscience or cellular neuroscience, establish and manage an independent research program, direct honors theses, advise students, and engage in service. The average teaching load is five courses per year.
The Wilkes Honors College (WHC) is a highly selective free-standing unit within FAU, with its own full-time faculty and a four-year honors liberal arts and sciences curriculum, with small class sizes and interdisciplinary coursework, community-based internships, and a senior honors thesis. The WHC is located on FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus in the coastal town of Jupiter, Florida, just outside of West Palm Beach. The campus is an international hub for scientific research and hosts the world-renowned research institutes Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Technology, as well as FAU’s own Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute. In addition, FAU’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute is located nearby in Fort Pierce. Candidates may access state-of-the-art facilities and have opportunities to collaborate with preeminent research teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualification for the position is a PhD or MD/PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biology, or a related field.
The committee will view favorably evidence of: (1) excellence in undergraduate teaching, breadth and depth of teaching interests, and potential for collaboration in interdisciplinary teaching activities; (2) an independent and innovative program of research, including research interests that are accessible to undergraduate students and/or that synergize with existing areas of emphasis; and (3) experience in advising and/or mentoring undergraduate students.
