The Clinical Trials Coordinator will work collectively within a multidisciplinary clinical/research team to ensure that all aspects of patient management are executed both timely and accurately. Incumbent must be comfortable working independently, managing interactions with and between team members, both internally and externally; ensuring that all NIH grant funded, industry-sponsored or investigator-driven studies/trials are managed to the highest quality to ensure safety and effectiveness. The incumbent will promote improved access for patients to clinical trials, and facilitate research activities throughout LSUHSC-affiliated clinics and programs as assigned. The incumbent will also prepare and edit clinical study protocols and scientific documents.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's
Discipline(s): Physical Sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, etc), Healthcare/Public Health or related field
Certifications/Licenses Required: Clinical Trials Coordinator 2: CCRC/CCRP
Minimum Years Required: Clinical Trials Coordinator 1: 1 year; Clinical Trials Coordinator 2 - 3 years
Type of Experience Required: Research or clinical experience in a hospital/clinic/academic setting; Strong basic computer skills including word processing, knowledge of spreadsheet functions, database management and web browsing.
Substitution of Education/Experience: At the CTC 2 level, one additional year of Clinical Trials experience may substitute for the CCRC/CCRP at the department’s discretion. At the CTC 1 or 2 level, an LPN and 2 additional years may substitute for the Bachelor's. At ANY LEVEL, a Master's can substitute for one year of experience.
