JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary: As a member of Production Operations, a Lab Tech will be trained in one or more key production tasks or processes as necessary to meet production requirements, while maintaining and consistently meeting established performance standards.
Essential Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Order Launch - Launching, traying, and pulling buttons for orders.
- Blocking for base curve cutting - Blocking a button to an arbor in preparation for machining the concave surface of the lens.
- Lathing - Scanning or manually entering data into lathes to ensure that the buttons are machined to the correct parameters.
- Base curve polishing - Polishing the concave surface to the lens then verifying the radius using an automated radius measuring instrument.
- Blocking for front curve cutting - Mounting the concave surface of the lens to an arbor in preparation for machining the convex surface of the lens.
- Deblocking - Utilizing an ultrasonic unit to remove the mounted lens from the blocking arbor.
- Final cleaning including Plasma and HydraPeg - Preparing the lens for plasma treatment and final packaging.
- Invoicing and packaging - Wrapping and packaging product for shipping.
- Endicia, UPS - Using software from USPS and UPS for shipping product to our accounts.
- Fitting sets/credits - Labeling and shrink-wrapping lens for fitting sets going out to our accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Employee must be trustworthy, honest, and display the highest level of integrity.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required.
- General PC applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (safety/weight belt provided, if requested). Specific vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. For US Candidates:
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $15.50.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
