Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide direct therapy services to children ages 2-6 across multiple clinics in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. Ideal candidates will have exceptional clinical skills and experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), apraxia, phonological errors, articulation, language, voice, pragmatics, AAC, and feeding. This position reports directly to the Lead Speech-Language Pathologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, implementing individualized and effective therapy programs.
- Build and maintain a full caseload.
- Assess and document children’s abilities using clinical observation, caregiver reports, and standardized assessments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and organized patient records (e.g., evaluation, daily notes, progress reports, billing, etc.).
- Stay informed on current best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
- Create engaging and motivating therapy activities.
- Demonstrate excellent time management, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
- Foster a positive and driven culture among therapists, clients, and their families.
- Represent The Place for Speech Therapy positively and enthusiastically both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility to obtain it
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an SLP in the state of Illinois
- Valid Illinois driver’s license and car insurance
- Experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Familiarity with billing for speech therapy services
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
