The role you’ll contribute:
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. Follows standards of safe radiation practice. Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists. Acts as a clinical resource to students, staff technologist and other hospital personnel. Assures current standards of practice for the unit.Responsible for performing radiology exams and documenting proper charges in two modalities.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Instructs and prepares patients for x-ray and/or other examinations.
· Performs routine and special radiographic examinations and is cross-trained in a least one other modality.
· Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
· Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
· Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure- makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
· Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Qualifications
· The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Deemed competent to perform in two modalities in Diagnostic Imaging required.
· Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.
· Registered in ARRT or specific modality required.
· Current American Heart Association BLS Certification Required
· Graduate of an accredited 2-year Allied Health program required.
· 1 Year X- Ray experience
