The role you’ll contribute: Clinical Education Manager (RN)
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the AdventHealth Medical Group West Florida Division (AHMG WFD) Clinical Education Manager is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in orientation, training/role transition, career development, continuing education/continued competence and academic partnerships. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

- Supervises and oversees daily operation of education activities for all Educational Specialists and their assigned responsibilities. Leads education deployment, coordination, compliance, and other assigned initiatives identified by clinical leadership.
- Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to training of new and experienced clinical employees new to AHMG WFD. Activities include coaching of new clinical employees, performance evaluation and growth plans, in collaboration with management, if necessary. Monitors and reports compliance with required documentation for training. Evaluates training/role transition process based on health care trends, learning needs, and organizational goals.
- Facilitates and evaluates activities related to career development and succession planning for assigned staff, in collaboration with unit/department leadership. Counsels assigned staff related to their career pathway.
- Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to AHMG WFD.
- Monitors and reports compliance with required documentation for orientation. Evaluates unit/department orientation process based on health care trends, learning needs, and organizational goals.
- Utilizes principles of education, adult learning, and for clinical experience, bases all activities on the professional growth pathway of the Novice to Expert continuum. Integrates current published research and literature into all learning activities. Maintains knowledge of national and local trends in clinical practice.
- Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates activities related to systematic professional learning experiences, based on needs assessments, designed to augment the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of assigned staff including continuing education, in-service education, continued competence based on unit/department needs, organization initiatives/goals, and policy revisions. Monitors and reports compliance with required education.
- Actively instructs clinical orientation, clinical courses, and annual competency sessions.
- Provides input for development and rollout of training materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists for clinical skills.
Minimum qualifications:
- Demonstrates competency in regard to communication and relationship building.
- Demonstrates the ability to include evidence-based practice standards for care.

- Able to manage and complete multiple tasks within designated timeframes and be able to work independently and collaboratively, within a fast-paced, matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
- Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills and ability to implement program goals.
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal with ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Assures consistent nursing and clinical practice using contemporary research and practice based on solid, validated evidence.
- Be immediately recognizable as a leader, possessing outstanding communication, listening, and interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of senior executives and staff.
- Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Three to five years of experience in nursing, preferably in the ambulatory setting or specialty.
- Two (2) years’ experience in healthcare leadership or training.
- Previous proven teaching experience in formal/informal settings.
- Current valid State of Florida or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as a clinical preceptor or trainer in designated role or field.
- MSN.
- Prior Experience as a nurse educator.
- Experience with a large, multi-specialty physician group.
- Experience in practice-based healthcare setting.
- Basic or advanced life support instructor, depending on specialty, within first year.
- Certification as Nursing Professional Development Educator.
