The PHARMACIST-PIC contributes to the mission by presenting a friendly smile, a helpful voice, and a helpful attitude to patients, clients, and customers seeking services, information, or requesting to transfer their prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing a high level of clinical skills and knowledge in caring for patients.
- Handling incoming calls and meeting patients in the Pharmacy.
- Problem-solving and providing a calming influence to upset patients.
- Enhancing the experience of Pharmacy employees by being friendly and helpful.
- Providing feedback to management about service improvements.
- Maintaining a neat and clean personal appearance.
- Assisting with the training of others in the workflow.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of new systems and procedures.
- Performing as a supervisor to maintain a consistent level of service.
- Assisting in providing “gold standard” customer service.
- Enrollment of new patients into service and retention of patients in care.
Skills Required
- Superior telephone communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA and company Standards for confidentiality.
- Ability to read and interpret prescription documents, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to prescription charges.
- Reasoning skills to solve practical problems.
Experience, Education, Licenses, and Abilities
Success for the position of a PHARMACIST-PIC requires a current Pharmacist license in the State of employment, and an American Academy of HIV Physicians Certification for Pharmacist (AAHIVP, current or successfully obtained within 18 months of employment). Must have data input skills and experience in pharmacy systems, including typing skills and familiarity with Windows PC applications. Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
