Job Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for patient and family teaching and discharge planning. Supports and enforces hospital and departmental policies/procedures. Demonstrates leadership qualities and good interpersonal relationship skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Applies knowledge of illness, injuries, and disease process utilizing available resources in the assessment process of the physical, psychological, and social needs of the patient.
- Demonstrates the ability to determine patient care priorities in emergency situations.
- Documents initial findings in all areas on the admission nursing assessment and reports pertinent information to provider.
- Assesses and documents ongoing changes in patient and family status, notifying providers when appropriate.
Requirements:
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the state of Florida to practice professional registered nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year medical/surgical experience.
Skills: BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required. BLS required before first date of employment. May obtain ACLS and PALS within three months of hire.
Knowledge: Knowledge of nursing services, preferably in a hospital setting. Knowledge of medical tools/equipment, copier and fax machine.
Abilities: Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, determine appropriate course of action in complex situations, be attentive to detail, work well under stressful situations, possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and maintain a positive attitude.
