Job Description

The Physician Assistant in the Cardiology Department provides quality service by performing a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for the admission of patients that are scheduled for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, stress tests, echocardiography and chest pain (observation patients).

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Physician Assistant-Graduate of an educational program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) typically a Master’s Degree.
New York State Licensed Physician and National Board Certification in a specialty required.
Previous experience relevant to the area of cardiology and prescriptive privileges in New York State.

Pre-employment Requirements

Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services.
Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen.
Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
