MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides patients with medical assessments and treatments pertaining to physical and mental health.
- Orders and interprets medical labs and diagnostic imaging for patients.
- Refers patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatments for assessed medical conditions.
- Performs minor procedures as qualified.
- Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records following coding standards.
- Displays sensitivity to the populations served.
- Contributes professional medical expertise to other medical and mental health professionals and clinical support staff.
- Provides oversight of support staff with respect to individual patient management.
- Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
- Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
- Maintains availability during scheduled on-call hours.
- Attends required meetings and in-services, and participates in committees as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains and completes patient health records or charts legibly and concisely, closing them within 48 hours and/or by the end of the service week.
- Works as an integral part of the clinical team.
- Participates in the on-call/Saturday rotation schedule as needed.
- Is flexible to work between different sites.
- Complies with the regulations and policies required of a Federally Qualified Health Center.
- Completes administrative assignments as requested by Medical Director and/or clinic.
- Reports to the Medical Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support Golden Health Initiative’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Education And/or Experience:
- Doctoral degree (MD/DO) or equivalent from an accredited school of medicine is required.
- Completion of Family Practice Residency with at least two years related experience and/or training preferred.
- Experience working with underserved populations is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
- This position requires an active and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona.
- Must have an active DEA license.
- BLS certification required.
- Must be able to provide all necessary documentation for credentialing.
