The role you’ll contribute:
Works in conjunction with other Residency Faculty as well as residents and students to optimize patient care and teaching with regard to drug therapy, which is consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of Medical Education. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, treating everyone with dignity.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Reviews prescriptions, coordination and dispensing of medication and samples, and prescription processing taught and proctored in the Residency Clinic.
- Provides education for resident and faculty physicians, pharmacy residents, pharmacy students and medical students regarding any appropriate pharmacotherapy issues.
- Operates the anticoagulation clinic on a weekly basis and assists the geriatrics team with coumadin management in the nursing home.
- Develops and improves new and existing clinical services including diabetes education, lipid management consult service, chronic drug clinic and others.
- Participates in research activities.
- Oversees the sample medication closets and compliance with policies in regard to sample dispensing and storage.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Doctoral degree in Pharmacy
- 2 years’ experience in a Hospital Pharmacy setting
- State Pharmacist license
