Job Title: Survey Director/Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage multidisciplined Survey and SUE department and provide technical guidance.
- Supervise and guide field crews and office staff; communicate with client representatives and management.
- Coordinate, organize, prioritize, and assign work while ensuring schedule and commitments are met.
- Provide progress and activity reports to management.
- Perform in-process quality review of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, aerial photographs, calculations, and other project deliverables.
- Establish processes to meet quality standards and monitor work practices to identify concerns.
- Oversee all survey deliverables for accurate project execution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilize correct technology, equipment, and tools needed for the department.
- Prepare and oversee proposal development and quotes.
- Review contracts and ensure adherence to requirements.
- Ensure safe execution of all work activities and adherence to safety regulations.
- Monitor and inspect subcontractors to ensure safe and quality work in line with agreements.
- Communicate with clients regarding specific projects and attend client meetings.
- Train staff in operations, policies, and procedures; conduct performance appraisals and mentor team members.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing all types of survey and SUE projects.
- Professional Land Surveyor in Georgia; other state licenses are desirable.
- Georgia Department of Transportation experience required.
- Broad knowledge of all phases of land surveying including boundary analysis, topography, GPS, 3D laser scanning, and construction layout services.
- Experience in managing field and office staff as well as project management.
- Extensive knowledge of Survey equipment and software for field and office work.
- Stay updated on new methods, standards, regulations, and developments affecting the organization; recommend new practices.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D software, Leica LGO/Infinity, Leica robotic total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Experience in Trimble Business Center, Microstation, Geopack, and OpenRoads software.
