All Shifts Part-time Position (24 hrs)
Under minimal supervision, act as a resource person to hospital staff and represent Administration during off-duty hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assumes the role of leadership in the absence of Administration during after hours, weekends, and holidays. The resource for the Supervisor is the Administrator On-call. Provides leadership for nursing staff in the absence of the Clinical Managers and Vice President, Patient Services.
Assumes a leadership role within the hospital during times of disaster and other crisis situations. Contacts appropriate persons and gives directions to hospital staff. Acts as a resource person to all hospital staff in support of departmental goals and objectives based on hospital philosophy and goals.
Supports the management staff of the hospital by giving input into planning and budgeting. Participates in developing policies and procedures. Provides service during off-duty hours for those departments that are normally closed when services are needed for continuity of patient care.
Demonstrates competence in the care of pediatric or frail elderly groups of patients (when/if assigned to these patients) relative to determining each patient's age-related and other physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs and carrying out patient care activities.
Supports, facilitates, and participates in the activities of those departments providing in-service and training programs as necessary. Acts as a resource for nursing staff in the clinical practice of nursing. Participates in monitoring and evaluating activities as assigned.
Keeps clinical and management skills current through demonstrated involvement in job-related in-service and training programs. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Vice President, Patient Services.
Required Qualifications:
*License/Certification: Current California Registered Nurse License, Current BCLS required, Current ACLS required. Proof of all licenses and certifications is required at the time of hire.
**Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred, Assaultive behavior training. Proof of required educational levels called for at the time of hire.
**Experience: Minimum of one to two years of supervisory experience in an acute care facility.
**Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, organization and problem-solving skills, leadership skills, effective time management.
