We’re hunting for a Motion Analysis Sports Performance Specialist - someone who’s ready to be part of a great team. In this position, you will ensure motion analysis laboratory operations; maintenance and calibration of equipment, manage systems operations, data management, participate in program development, provide technical guidance, and participate in the clinical and research functions of the Motion Analysis Lab Program. You will provide education, training, and support necessary to maintain the integrity of the lab, actively collaborating with key stakeholders to help ensure the delivery of optimal quality care in a cost-effective manner in a family-centered environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in monitoring and assuring proper configuration, integration, and operation of all computer systems, data collection equipment, and associated peripheral devices in the motion analysis lab.
- Performs routine quality control checks to ensure that equipment is in safe working condition for patient studies.
- Works in collaboration with motion analysis staff to collect motion capture data on clinical and research patients.
- Assists in research activities including research design, data collection, data analysis, and scientific writing.
- Sets up laboratory equipment prior to patient evaluations and research projects.
- Performs accurate marker placement, anthropometric measurements, and electrode placements, and resolves data artifact issues.
- Assists in providing education and training in the use of new equipment and in the maintenance and safe use of departmental equipment.
- Assists in providing education and training and ongoing assistance on computer use and software applications.
- Informs leader or designee of all patient/personal injury or unsafe situations, anticipated problems, and unusual situations, completing appropriate related documentation within 24 hours according to hospital policy.
- Works with program staff and other health care professionals to promote teamwork through volunteering regularly to offer assistance when time allows.
Skills & Requirements
- Required master's degree in Biomechanics, exercise physiology, exercise science, neuroscience, kinesiology, athletic training, or movement science.
- Required 5 years of experience in the motion analysis field.
- Knowledge of biomechanics, human anatomy, and kinesiology.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Knowledge of Vicon, Visual 3D, Theia, and/or Xsens preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware, install and upgrade software, collect and reduce data, provide verbal and written scientific reporting, and effectively communicate with strong interpersonal skills.
