Position Purpose:
New Richmond Veterinary Clinic in New Richmond, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join our team as the Managing DVM. Our current leader is ready to pass the torch to a growth-minded individual, offering a unique professional development opportunity. We are a successful, steady-paced, and team-focused small animal practice, and we are excited to welcome a new generation of leadership!
The Managing DVM at New Richmond Veterinary Clinic is a key leadership role. This individual will be responsible for providing medical and non-medical leadership for the practice, managing associate veterinarians, and ensuring regulatory compliance relating to veterinary medicine. They will also be responsible for creating an environment of teamwork and collaboration in which quality medicine is delivered. Additional responsibilities include guiding the direction of the practice, advancing medical care, and monitoring the practice's financial performance.
Our practice consists of 2 full-time DVMs, 2 certified veterinary technicians, and 4 veterinary assistants, creating an ideal doctor-to-tech/assistant ratio. Our technical staff is highly utilized, ensuring that their doctors always have an extra hand and can manage their time as needed. We foster a supportive team environment with optimal caseloads for a doctor who likes to keep a steady agenda with a balance of medical and surgical cases.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
