Description
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford (UICOMR) seeks an experienced physician to serve as Director for the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. The Director is responsible for directing its ACGME-accredited HPM Fellowship program as well as providing inpatient and outpatient HPM care. The Director also works closely with UICOMR’s Family Medicine Residency program faculty and staff to coordinate and direct our residents and medical students in the specialty of HPM.
Minimum qualifications include MD/DO or its foreign equivalent from an LCME-accredited medical college. Board certification in a related field (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics) and board certification/board eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Unrestricted Illinois license to practice medicine in Illinois or Illinois license eligible. Knowledge of hospice and palliative medicine education and training programs, including accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Strong organizational and leadership skills, including managing multiple projects and priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with fellows, residents, faculty, staff, and community partners.
